About the exhibition
Presenting over 100 artworks by 35 artists, Surinamese School set out to explore the key themes and narratives of Surinamese painting from 1910 to the mid-1980s.

The exhibition is curated by guest curators Jessica de Abreu, Mitchell Esajas, Bart Krieger, and Ellen de Vries in collaboration with Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam staff members Inez Blanca van der Scheer, Claire van Els, and Carlien Lammers.
